Grow Ops

For all of my Landlords and Realtors, here is some information on detecting Marijuana Grow Operations.   (CREA, published December 2004, Grow Ops, pg 5 )

1. Buyer of Tenant unloads unrecognizable equipment and very few household furnishings.
2. Power meter spins at a very high speed or signs of electrical tampering
3. Heavy condensation on the inside of the windows
4. People entering and exiting the residence only through the garage keeping the garage door closed.
5. Humming sound of fans and generators
6. A strong odor similar to skunk cabbage comes from the building
7. Windows are always dark and may be secured with metal bars, blacked out or heavily draped
8. Rooftop with no snow on it when the surrounding houses are covered in snow.

Grow Operations can be developed in every neighbourhood, every province or state and any county.  Know the signs and if your gut is telling you that something is wrong. Check it out prior to purchasing that home.
