Good Morning All,
Well it's been a long time since my last blog. I thought today I would touch upon Real Estate in the real world compared to what we all see on the TV.
The TV shows are very interesting to watch. A quick 30min-1hour show provides enough entertainment for anyone who is looking into real estate. These shows show various viewpoints depending on who they are dealing with. For example, you have prospect buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants. For everyone in one of those categories there is a show that caters to those needs. They provide information on decorating ideas, getting your house ready for sale or what to look for in a suitable property. As viewers, we have to remember that those shows are for entertainment value. They only touch upon a small portion of what a Real estate Salesperson or Broker does in actual fact.
When buying a home you may see 10-15 properties over a period of time. When your home is for sale, there are various statistical data regarding days on market. The average for my area is 30-40 days. On the shows, your home is sold in 30 minutes, I would love that.
As for renting, there is more work involved compared to buying or selling. The paperwork that is required would amaze most people. You need to show a job letter, rental application, credit report with score. Those are just your minimum requirements. Real estate in a nutshell has many variables that need to be considered before taking the plunge.
Some advice that I would suggest is, know your budget, find out what requirements are needed, ask questions to potential Realtor's and have an open-mind.
Take care,
MyDaddyHomes
